Brittney gutted the
interior of her 92 Mustang GT and sent it down to get painted at South
County Auto Body. This car has been in the family for over 8 years
and although a "nice" car needed refreshing cosmetically. It was
re-painted 2003 Ford Twilight Blue metallic with a clear coat (the
original color was black). The car has just been painted and needs to be
color sanded, rubbed out and put back together. Brittney has already
started changing the interior over from Gray and Charcoal to completely
Black. We have gotten new lights, front Cobra bumper cover, carpet and
window motors and weather stripping from
50resto.com
. Stay tuned as Brittney restores her Mustang using the
Fox-Body
Mustang Recognition Guide 1979-1993 as
a guide. The car has a '95 Cobra engine, tremec 5 speed, center force
clutch, Saleen cable and quadrant, pro 5.0 shifter, MAC intake and
headers, Flow master mufflers and Saleen wing.
We have color sanded and rubbed out the Mustang. We
used 1000 grit wet or dry sand paper to "knock down some of the "orange
peel" and little imperfections, then 3M super duty rubbing compound and
buffed it with a lambs wool pad. We finished off with 3M polishing glaze
and a finish pad. We then finished with wax and a very soft non
scratching cloth. It now has a very deep gloss and the color is more
brilliant.
